Questions about new OELMA Libraries of Distinction Award
Hope this clarifies language used in description of OELMA Library of Distinction Award.
Topic # 1: Letters of Support — At least four letters of support must be included with the nomination. Although six support letter options are listed, four letters must be submitted. Only one letter should be submitted from any category.
This gives school libraries the opportunity to provide recommendations from multiple sources. Providing recommendations from various groups illustrates a broad-base of support that would be characteristic of a distinguished school library or distinguished district library program.
Topic # 2: Collaboration with Community Groups/Organizations — Candidates for this award must show collaboration with community groups/organizations. Collaborating with multiple community groups — not necessarily the groups listed — demonstrates a broad-base of support that would be characteristic of a distinguished school library or distinguished district library program.
