Technology wish list for the classroom
My high school’s Technology Committee is looking at a variety of options to upgrade and/or update the technology in the building with the limited funds provided from a recent bond issue.
1) If you could wave a magic wand, what types of technology would you permanently install in a classroom to make instruction more effective?
___Desktop Computer
___Digital Camera
___DVD
___Flat Screen
___Flex Cam
___Laptop Computer
___Smart Board Type Device
___Sound System
___Student Response Systems
___Subject Specific Software
___VCR
___Video Projector
____other (Please name specifically)
2) If classrooms had a video projector, how often do you envision it being used?
____One class per week
____2-3 classes per week
____All 5 classes every day
____Other
3) Under ideal circumstances, what would the students in your building be able to do with classroom technology on a daily basis?
Thanks for your input.

I’m not sure what some of those things are. Our district is a little slow on things like that. In our library we only have desktop computers, a printer, lcd projector, scanner and just got two digital camcorders.
I would love to have a smartboard. We thought we were getting one, but they didn’t have enough money to put one in the library.
when we were discussing what is necessary for today’s classroom we decided that all classrooms should have a DVD, Laptop, Smartboard, good sound system, VCR Video projector. Most of our classrooms now have these. Now the emphases is to work with teachers and what projects would be appropriate for student projects. starting next year these projects must be part of all curriculums. Some teachers have already started. instead of a written book report a student interruptive video can be produced. With the technology in place more teachers are using United streaming in their class presentations. Yes once the technology is place it seems that teachers are more inclined to use it. At least that is the plan.
